Abstract
Based on surveys and interviews to a number of consumers and sellers who use the take away holder, found that packaging design has a very important role for the sales and brand image that it represents. There is also a general dissatisfaction about the existing packaging designs of take away holder. Take away holder products on the market now has a design that is less interesting, less strong and is not environmentally friendly because most are made of plastic material which is difficult to be decomposed by natural processes. Therefore, researchers concluded that the public and beverage manufacturers require a design packaging take away the new holder is able to meet their needs. Based on the pre-survey conducted in Surabaya researcher found 20 take away holder attributes that are divided into four categories, namely functional, design, eco-friendly, price. Of the 20 existing attributes; there was 8 attractive and onedimensional attributes on the results of conducted Kano questionnaires. Attributes that are attributed in the attractiveness category are: stable when being transported, keeping the temperature of the drink (hot or cold), keep the lid beverages to be not easily separated, drinks can be placed at various places (vehicles, desks, etc.), and comfortable when held. Attributes that are attributed into the category of one-dimensional are: the process of making and procurement not pollute the environment, the materials used can be recycled, and the material used is easily decomposed by natural processes. A new prototype design has been designed using the selected attributes.
