HUBUNGAN ANTARA WORKPLACE SPIRITUALITY DAN EMPATI DENGAN PERILAKU PROSOSIAL PETUGAS BASARNAS KOTA KUPANG NTT

Abstract

The duty of BASARNAS in Kupang is to do government task in order to search and rescue around Kupang city, but the past months the reality is not like that. BASARNAS in Kupang city being a highlights recently because BASARNAS at Kupang city is late to handling and to help the disaster that happen around Kupang city as landslide, sinking ship, and forest fires. This research aims to knowing the correlation between workplace spirituality and empathy with prosocial behavior BASARNAS officers in Kupang East Nusa Tenggara. This research method using a quantitative method which collects data using workplace spirituality questionnaire, empathy questionnaire, and prosocial behavior questionnaire, and the questionnaire is distribute to 100 BASARNAS officers in Kupang city. Data is analyzed with normality test, linearity test, and correlation test using Pearson product moment. The result of first hypothesis is there’s a correlation between workplace spirituality with prosocial behavior with amount of correlation is 0,210 and amount of significance 0,036 p<0,05), and the result of second hypothesis is there’s a correlation between empathy with prosocial behavior with amount of correlation is 0,225 and amount of significance 0,024 (p<0,05). With high level of workplace spirituality, empathy, and prosocial, BASARNAS officer is expected to maintain, improve, and use it to improve their performance when they doing their duty and responsibility as BASARNAS officer.
