Abstract
The questions of where and how employees find meaning of work become critical and important for every job. Employees, who find proper meaning of work, will tend to feel more satisfied, engage actively, and become more productive. Researches on the meaning of work and its effects on job have been widely published. However, those that purposely examined the meaning of work by Christian lecturers are limited. Based on Christian’s doctrine and tradition, it is believed that a work is a specific life calling from God, not just a means for self-actualization, scientific development, or the fulfillment of financial needs. This study aims to conduct a preliminary literature review to construct the concept of meaning of work by lecturers in Christian’s higher education institution. Finally, this study provides further research direction to find conceptual model and implication of this phenomenon on lecturer’s performances, productivity and life satisfaction
