USULAN PERBAIKAN TATA LETAK FASILITAS INDUSTRI GUNA MENGURANGI MATERIAL HANDLING DENGAN METODE SYSTEMATIC LAYOUT PLANNING (STUDI KASUS : CV. GARUDA PLASTIK)

Abstract

Inproper of facility layout placement in a factory is one of crucial problems. It gives losses for the company such as the distances for material handling will be raised which cause production capacity can’t be maximal. Moreover, it also cause the cost of material handling become higher then it used to be. That problem also faced by CV. Garuda Plastik, a plastic seed processing at Gresik. To solve the problem in CV. Garuda Plastik, Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method and simulation’s software Promodel 7.5 was used. SLP was used because this method observe the production process and also closeness in every facilities based on material flow. Moreover, simulation’s software Promodel 7.5 was used to detect the raise of productivity in CV. Garuda Plastik by using new facility layout. The results of this research are few alternatives in facility layout which can reduce the distances of material handling. By reducing the distances of material handling, CV. Garuda Plastik can raise their productivity as many as 3.040 products per month and minimize the cost of material handling up to 20,85%.
