“PENGARUH GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN TRANSFORMASIONAL DAN TRANSAKSIONAL ATASAN LANGSUNG TERHADAP TURNOVER INTENTION : PERAN MEDIASI TINGKAT KETERLIBATAN KARYAWAN”
Abstract
This paper sets out to examine the effect leadership style transformational and transactional immediate supervisor with employee engagement and turnover intention. The collecting data using a structured questionnaire to 162 employees in a manufacturing company. Data were then analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). This paper argues that transformational and transactional leadership styles have a significant impact on the level of employee engagement. The level of employee engagement and transformational leadership style does not have the significant influence on turnover intention. While transactional leadership style has a significant effect on turnover intention employee. Practical implications are the immediate supervisor must be able to implement transformational and transactional leadership style in a balance manner so as to increase employee engagement and reduce turnover intention. The value this research provides a more nuanced understanding of the level employee engagement and turnover intention is influenced by the immediate supervisor’s leadership style. It addresses the different issue from previous studies tended to underline wage factor as the main reason for the level of employee engagement and turnover in Indonesia.
