Abstract
Darmo hospital must maintain the organizational commitment of nurses. Organizational commitment is influenced by emotional intelligence and job satisfaction. The method used is quantitative research. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction on organizational commitment of nurses. Total research subjects were 138 people from a population of 189. The scale used in this study consists of the emotional intelligence scale adaptation of the emotional intelligence scale by Rahmawati (2007), the scale of job satisfaction in the adaptation of the job satisfaction survey by Spector (1994), and organizational commitment scale adapted from the organizational commitment scale developed by Allen and Meyer (1990). The hypothesis used is no influence of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction on organizational commitment. The results show that emotional intelligence has a significant influence on organizational commitment of 17.2%, while job satisfaction significantly influence the organizational commitment of 35.3%. The influence of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction together to organizational commitment of 40.2%. Darmo Hospital should increase organizational commitment of nurses to improve emotional intelligence and job satisfaction, for example by providing training emotional intelligence and respect for the nurses who excel.
