Abstract
Student who come outside the island of Java tend to experience culture shock which make them difficult with new peoples. Culture shock will affect social support received, whereas social support is one of the factors that influence achivment motivation. Achivment motivation is one of the factor to determine the success in learning that makes an individual be more excellent, have a huge responsibility to finish their tasks and have a goal to achieve great result. This research aims to find the influence of social support and self efficacy towards achievment motivation. Subject in this research are as much as 69 students of UPH Surabaya whose originated from another island besides Java. In this research, likert-based questionnaires which were designed by the researcher based on teh theory of social support, self efficacy influenceof achievement motivation. This research found that social support and self efficacy influence of achievement motivation by 58% (p<0,05). Based on the fact, parents and other colleague are expected to give social support and to motivate others to gain self efficacy as one of the way to increase achievement motivation on one individual. From the Universities, the could plan non-academic program in order to help the students to interact with each other.
