Abstract
The Human Resources (HR) have an important roles for economic improvement in Indonesia. The Variance Of Ethnic and culture in Indoensia can be seen trough their work ethnic. The sample in this study were chinese's ethnic and javanese's ethnic, include their sex. The Purpose of this study wes to determine the difference between the work ethic of chinese's ethnic with Javanese's ethnic, both men and women. The Subjects in this study were employees who Chinese's Ethnic and Javanese's ethnic who had lunch in foodcourt City Of Tomorrow, teacher and staff at St. Carolus Kindergarten and Junior High School, and staff at Church Yohanes Pemandi Surabaya. The Researcher has adapted the Multidimensional Work Ethnic Profile (MWEP) based on 7 aspects of work ethnic by Miller's questionnaire, with 36 of closed questions. After had trial in UPH and enough reliable, this questionnaire had continued in researc's respondent. The result of t-test in this study showed a significant difference of work ethic between the employee who are Chinese's employees and Javanese's employees (t=3,343, p>0.05), who are javanese's work ethics are higher than Chinese's. However, there are no significant difference of work ethic between Chinese's Men and Javanese's men (t=-1766, p=0.085, P>0.05). One other hand, there are significant differences of work ethic between Chinese's women and Javanese's women (t=3,233, p=0.002, p>0.05), who are Javanese's women's are higher than Chinese's women. This Research hopes stereotype in work ethics had disappeared, beside the purpose of this study.
