PERANCANGAN KESEIMBANGAN LINTASAN PRODUKSI MENGGUNAKAN METODE RANKED POSITIONAL WEIGHTS DAN PENDEKATAN SIMULASI (STUDI KASUS PADA PT WIJAYA PANCA SENTOSA FOOD)
Abstract
The research objective is to balance the production line in PT Wijaya Panca Sentosa Food. This research conduct a stopwatch time study in each process, analyzing the bottleneck in the system, and the line balance efficiency in current system After the data have been gathered relating to the current production system, this research will evaluate and improve the line balance efficiency based on the current production system’s performance.
Data collection gathered through observation, interview, documentation, and literature studies. The data processed using control chart and data adequacy test, distribution fitting, creating the simulation model using Arena simulation software, independent sample test, model verification, model validation, assessing and evaluating the line balance efficiency using Ranked Positional Weights (RPW) method and simulation approach.
Based on the result, the line balance efficiency in the current production system is 59,99% with 6 workstations in the system. Improvement of the workstation using RPW method resulting 81,35% line balance efficiency with 3 workstations in the system. Improvement made again based on simulation evaluation on the machines and operator’s utilization. The improvement result 94,64% line balance efficiency with 3 workstations in the system.
