Abstract
In recent decades, manufacturing industries have evolved rapidly along with the revolution of technology. Manufacturing industries have used sophisticated machines in their production. Unfortunately, the sophisticated machines do not guarantee that machines won’t find any failure. The failures of machine will bring loss to the industries so they have to have good machinery management. Perusahaan Roti Matahari as manufacturing industry also has to do machinery management well. So far, machinery management that held is not the best as the machine often go down suddenly. That’s why failure behavior analysis of the machine is important to be done. By doing failure behavior analysis, each failure cause and its criticality, reliability, availability, MTBF and ENOF of the current machinery system and appropriate machine maintenance strategy will be known. Failure behavior analysis of Perusahaan Roti Matahari was done by grouping the failure mode and the failure cause using root cause analysis (RCA). Each failure cause on RCA will be calculated for its criticality using failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) that will combined with fuzzy methodology (FM) approach for calculating the failure behavior variable of the current machinery system. Components that have the higher probability of occurrence of failure will be modeled using non homogenous Poisson point process (NHPPP) to decide the optimum maintenance strategy. From the research that has been done, it is inferred that the current machinery management isn’t optimum. Optimum machinery management requires company to hold maintenance with the higher frequency.
