Based on the pre survey held at PT Dwi Gading Wijaya Mandiri (DGWM), 5 out of 6 workers on cylinder and cone molen drum welding work station experienced fatigue because they have to bend their body to do the welding activity. Moreover, the absence of work bench makes them have to move around the drum or rotating the drum in order to perform welding. Based on that problem, a welding workbench need to be designed as a tool to help welding activity. The purpose of this research is to create a design of welding work bench that enable the process of welding cylinders and cones to be more efficient. The method used in this research is using QFD (Quality Function Deployment) method. With this method the data about the criteria needed by the workers to design the work bench is obtained. The research result reveals that PT DWGM requires a welding workbench design that can reduce the job activity, comfortable to use, easy to use, does not require a lot of manpower, can speed up the production process, increases worker safety, and does not cause other fatigue factors. The design that suits PT DWGM’s needs is a welding workbench which uses motor to rotate the table and has adjustable table height.en_US
