Abstract
Nurse is an occupation prone to stress, therefore a research should be done to investigate nurses’ well-being. This study aims to know the difference between nurses’ subjective well-being with different humor style. Humor style can divided into two groups, the positive and negative of humor style. Participant in this study are 82 nurses who work in Menur Mental Health Hospital, Surabaya. Subjective well-being and humor style were measured using questionnaires developed by researcher. Research hypotheses were tested using independent samples t-test. The result shows that nurses’ subjective well-being with positive humor style is significantly higher than those with negative humor style. (t = 7,218, p = 0,00, p < 0,05). The result could be used by nurse to use positive humor style to increase their subjective well-being.
