PEMETAAN CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) PADA PERUSAHAAN YANG TERDAFTAR DI BURSA EFEK INDONESIA (BEI) TAHUN 2008-2012
Abstract
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an important thing for the company as a form of corporate responsibility towards society and the environment. The aims of this study is to map Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Indonesian companies because there is a limited number of research on CSR mapping in Indonesia. The variables used in this study are the type of industry, company profile (high-profile and low-profile), and foreign ownership. This study mapped the CSR activities into six categories: Cause Promotion, Cause Related Marketing, Corporate Social Marketing, Corporate Philanthropy, Community Volunteering and Social Responsible Business Practice. The sample used in this study are all companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2008-2012 and disclose CSR activities on a regular basis for five years. Data obtained from the company’s annual reports.
The results of this study indicate that the mapping of CSR activities provide more extensive information about the CSR activities undertaken by the company in Indonesia and the number of companies doing CSR activities. Industries that do most CSR activities are industrial infrastructure. Most companies do CSR activities is a high-profile companies and foreign-owned companies.
