dc.description.abstractThe issue discussed in this research is the optimal requirement of man power on the packing section in PT. XYZ caused by idle condition of man power occurred on the packing section. Therefore, it is necessary of the working time measurement to find out the working time of employee on the packing section. The aim of this research is to determine the standard time of the packing process and to optimize man power in accordance with PT. XYZ. The fisrt step of this research is to do a working time measurement of each employee on packing section in machines TP 1, TP 2, and TP 4. The method used to obtain the data in this research is doing interview to manager and employee, observe to production process specially on packing section and obtain data of working time measurement directly. The data will be processed to test the uniformity and adequacy of the data, then calculate of workload. Optimal working time will be observed at machines TP1, TP2, and TP4 with package size 25x10 and 5x50. This working time optimization is design based on result of calculation from workload analysis approximation in accordance to average ability standard. The result of this research that can be applicated in PT XYZ are machine TP1 with 25x10 packaging – 9 operators, machine TP2 with 25x10 packaging - 10 operators, machine TP2 with 5x50 packaging – 6 operators, and machine TP4 with 5x50 packaging – 7 operators. The effect after doing this optimization on operator working in machine (TP 1, TP2, and TP4) is suitable with production machine capacity or a little of bottleneck or idle. But for the idle, it can be done by adding working element. For example write production report result already done.en_US
