PENGARUH SELF EFFICACY, INTERNAL LOCUS OF CONTROL DAN EXTERNAL LOCUS OF CONTROL TERHADAP INTENSI BERWIRAUSAHA MAHASISWA BEBERAPA UNIVERSITAS DI SURABAYA
Abstract
Young entrepreneurs with adequate quantity and quality, could be one of
the solution to settle and solve the problem of poverty in Indonesia. The young
entrepreneur, for an example is a college student. College students can have a big
opportunity to become an entrepreneur or a businessman. An entrepreneur is
influenced by various factors, such as self-efficacy and locus of control. Each
entrepreneur has a different degree of self efficacy and locus of control factor,
which influence the entrepreneurship intention. The purpose of this study was to
determine the effect of self-efficacy, internal locus of control and external locus of
control on entrepreneurship intentions of students either partially or
simultaneously. This research is expected to be useful in increasing the selfevaluation of students to become entrepreneurs and make students more
enthusiastic in starting a business. The subjects were undergraduates students at
Pelita Harapan Surabaya University, Petra Christian University, Surabaya
University, and Ciputra University with the number of 140 people. Researchers
designed a questionnaire enclosed by 63-items statement independently with the
guidance of lecturer researchers. Researchers use used trial test in this study.
This study uses multiple regression test program in SPSS 23 for windows. The
results of this study revealed a significant effect of self-efficacy, internal locus of
control and external locus of control on entrepreneurship intentions of students (p
= 0:00; p <0.05). R2 value obtained was 0.634 or effects amounting to 63.4%.
The biggest influence on the intentions of entrepreneurship is of variable internal
locus of control. The conclusion in this study is that the self-control and selfconfidence greatly contribute to the tendency for someone to start a business.
